Woman at the Well, My Transformation

Lord, I thirst. I desire the water of life.

Woman at the Well, My Transformation

Woman at the well, the words I give will never leave you thirsty.

Though I am who I am because of my parents,
once I begin to acknowledge that this too is the Lord's work,
my thoughts about my shortcomings, which I once found unpleasant and disliked, begin to change.

The moment I realize that the Lord, as a potter, has fashioned the community—my family, our society, and our nation—with diverse characteristics in mind,
I begin to let go of such futile concerns.

Rather than worrying about what others think and see of me,
my priority is to seek the Lord's purpose in shaping me.
As I begin to find that reason, taking one step at a time,
I feel a sense of pride in being a child of God's covenant.

This path towards the Lord is never smooth.
It is a narrow path, and there are times when I cannot see ahead.

However, those who realize that walking the Lord's path is the only way to live,
even though it may be a difficult path,
can persevere, be refined, and overcome challenges with strength.
For such individuals, the hope for the future comes to them
like the light shining in the eastern sky at dawn.

Oh! My time of suffering,
starting from my past self, a child born to parents,
I am now reborn as God's child, possessing God's holy attributes and values. How rewarding this is!
With my spiritual eyes opened, as I look at the world and people,
I can now understand that God's light and life encompass me.

I, Youngmin, who was once like the woman at the well,
am now reborn as a child who can truly praise the Lord.
I give thanks for this rebirth. May it be according to the Lord's will. Amen.
I pray in Jesus' name.
