The Power of Culture Trumps Military and Economic Might

My poor last will and testament does not contain my name.
Just six characters written in blood:
Independence of Korea (대한 독립 만세)

In my last photograph,
I will smile joyfully.
Remember only one phrase:
Independence of Korea (대한 독립 만세)

Following South Korea's recent state of emergency, a unique aspect of the protests was the manner in which many young people expressed their opinions, mirroring the methods they commonly use to cheer on their idols at concerts. For instance, they held "support sticks" (응원 봉) or "glow sticks" (야광 봉), and to the rhythm of K-pop music, they voiced their anger and resistance against the president's crimes, and advocated for impeachment (탄핵). This protest culture immediately resonated with older generations (旣成世代), uniting all ages (全 世代) in expressing their views on the political situation (時局). This surprised journalists and people worldwide and became known globally as the "K-protest".

Powerlessness (無力) may temporarily restrain a person's body (身體), but the message of hope, carried in song lyrics, resonates within people's hearts and moves them deeply (心琴). As the saying goes, "the pen is mightier than the sword," the power of culture (文化), rooted in humanities and the arts, proves superior to the power of military might and economics.

A prophecy, once shared by some but later forgotten, foretold that the Korean (韓) people would use culture and history to positively influence nations and peoples worldwide (世界 熱邦 民 族과 나라). It seems that God's time has come to purify the Korean people (韓民族) and South Korea (大韓民國). God has been patiently waiting, separating the wheat from the tares ("weeds" or "chaff"), exposing the deceptive tactics of Satan (Satan, 악마 또는 마귀) and his henchmen to the entire nation, and is already extinguishing the influence (氣運) of their wickedness.

The Old Testament (舊約) reveals that whenever Israel enjoyed comfort and material abundance, their leaders and people engaged in wickedness in God's eyes.

The Korean church and its members may have diligently practiced their faith, but they have neglected to truly revere God and uphold His life-giving word (生命) as precious as their lives.

If we are truly God's children (子女), then even now, living according to the truth (眞理) we know, risking our lives to uphold it, is the true path to life and the salvation of future generations.

Lord, grant us mercy (慈悲).
Let the believers (敎人) of this land truly repent (悔改).

Cleanse (淨潔) all things You have created on this earth, and restore holiness (恢復).

I pray in Jesus' name. Amen.
